Not too long ago, I read “Ignore Everybody” by Hugh MacLeod. Rather than try to paraphrase, here’s the excerpt that hit me kinda square on:

“Everyone is born creative. Everyone is given a box of crayons in kindergarten. Then when you hit puberty they take the crayons away and replace them with dry, uninspiring books on algebra, history, etc. Being suddenly hit years later with the “creative bug” is just a wee voice telling you, “I’d like my crayons back, please.”

I’ve danced with cartooning, animation and illustration for decades. In my younger years, I chased cartoon syndication with a lot of passion and energy… and a lot of aimlessness. One day I got a call from a big syndicate. They liked my work, but could I please be a little more like Berkeley Breathed? Sigh.

I started playing around with animation in 2016, at first with Adobe Animate (Flash), and more recently with Moho Pro. I created this zombie-like character, ultimately christened #DeadChuck. He is kind of an alter-ego character who can say and do some of the things I can’t. Especially if I want to remain gainfully employed.

Speaking of employment, in my day job, I’m a marketing guy. I especially love the art and science of branding, and creating compelling ways to connect people with messages and stories.

I guess at the end of the day, I’m just a guy who likes to create things. I usually go for funny things. I like to make people laugh … we need more of it in the world. And this site is just my wee voice wanting to play with my crayons. If anything here brought you a smile, then it will have been worth it.
