Here's how it works:
The above drawing was for the parents of a member of a college marching band to commemorate his first year in the program. First, I did a quick sketch, which you'll see at the far left. I sent this to the parents for approval, so they had an opportunity to see how it was shaping up and provide feedback. Once approved, I inked and colored the art. In this case, they selected the framed version, which is on the far right.
